The Willows of Marshalltown Presents Scholarship

The Willows of Marshalltown Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year at Marshalltown Community College will go to Katy Thompson from Green Mountain-Garwin High School. Katy graduated from GMG with a 3.9 GPA and is pursuing a nursing degree at MCC. She is the daughter of Roger Thompson.

The Willows president Ben Daniels says he believes in the value higher education in building a better future for all generations in Marshalltown.  “We look forward to being part of a new chapter of life for seniors in Marshalltown,” says Daniels. “At The Willows, we are invested in the story of our residents: past, present and future. We want to further a legacy of compassion and care to our younger generations as well. We are happy to play a role in this chapter in Katy’s life as she follows her goal of obtaining her nursing degree here at MCC.”

Up to two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year to qualified students, with renewal possible for students who qualify for a second year. Donors wishing to contribute to or establish scholarship funds are encouraged to contact MCC Foundation Executive Director Carol Geil for more information at 641-844-5747 or carol.geil@iavalley.edu.
